The original ghostly jalapeno was created by Jack skaggs from Ohio. (ghost crossed with the Jalapeno) Original is red long bumpy and a quick burn that lingers. This was created a few years ago.
On my quest of finding color variants of this great pepper. I solded seeds of the red to a customer named Andy Goodrich. And that is where he got the chocolate color variant. I'm currently growing them and they seem to be consistent. Also a little bit less heat than the red but a fantastic flavor.
This chocolate version is low in floralness. A sweet and almost earthy flavor. Sharp heat that fades very quickly. Comes on very strong. The heat level is in the mid-range of the super hot side.
